Jesus saves, but only Buddha makes incremental backups
This title leads on to a wonderful and enlightening talk given by Ajahn Brahm. A Buddhist public talk at Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery. Titled:
“Karma, Evolution & Intelligent Design”
As a Buddhist Ajahn Brahm believes that we must bend our faith to fit the facts. This is in relation to what we constantly learn in science. Adapt our faith. As apposed to other faiths which may bend the facts to suit the faith.
Life is always ‘work in progress’. No point in prediction, too many people fulfilling their ‘wills’.
Is there one intelligent being that created everything, that is constantly watching over us, guiding us? No there are 13 billion intelligent beings doing this. Each and everyone of us!
Intelligent Karma. We are all designing our own futures. No need to have a higher being to put the responsibility on. We are responsible for our own karma.
A book was quoted when someone asked where does Jesus, God fit into the Buddhist tradition. That book was called ‘The History of God’ by Karen Armstrong. This book was also recommend by Steve. I need to check it out!

Something else I need to check out is by Elaine Pagels who writes about the Gnostic gospels (suppressed Christianity). This was in relation to the documented evidence that baldheaded chaps wearing brown ropes who were vegetarian had a monastery in Alexandria 2000 years ago. The same place and time Jesus was growing up. Did he have access to Buddhist teachings.
Many textual analyses indicate striking similarities between what was said by Jesus and by Buddha and between the prophetic legend of Jesus and ancient Buddhist texts.
