Unless you’re a hooker, avoid working under too many arseholes

Labour Day weekend holiday…. Went to a BBQ at East Coast organised by the Aikido club. Great food, great company and great Whisky! Lot of fun.

Back in April 2002, before coming out to sunny Asia, I went to a Marillion fan convention. Yes! Very un-cool, but lets be un-cool with Mr Dan!

Marillion are another little band I like that no-one has heard of! Anyhow I have got a 4 DVD set of the event from April 2002, and it brings back very fond memories of that weekend. Plus you even see the back of me lining up to get autographs!!!

I’m currently reading the second book by the author Neil Humphreys, called ‘Scribblings from the same Island. His first book was called ‘Notes from an even Smaller Island’.

His second book has to be the funniest thing I’ve read in a long time. He’s a Brit living in Singapore and like me; quote ‘Not rich, doesn’t own a condo, and doesn’t have any expat privileges.’

His observations on Singapore and its idiosyncrasies are so spot-on. Everything from Inconsiderate drivers, kiasu ‘ism (Afraid to loose out), Pride in food, SPG’s, Taxi drivers, it’s all there…… Thanks to Bev for lending it to me.

Today I’m watching lots of concert footage of Marillion on my DVD player. Care to join me?...........................
